Abstract | As we had experienced in Falkland war and Arab-Israeli wars, it has been proved that an anti-ship missile is the most critical threat to naval ships. Recently, anti-ship missiles are evolved to cooperatively attack to enhance their survivability as well as kill probability according to the defense system of a battle ship is modernized. But, there are a few studies about the defense strategy of a battle ship against multiple anti-ship missile.
In this paper, an efficient defense strategy of single naval ship using short range anti-air missiles against the threat of multiple anti-ship missiles is suggested. The proposed ship defense logic is based on the maximization of the minimum range of interception of anti-ship missiles in the probabilistic point of view. Search probability of both the radar to track the anti-ship missiles and the seeker of each anti-air missile are considered in the launch order of the anti-air missiles. Performance of the proposed logic is investigated by nonlinear planar simulations. |
